Kadayawan is globally known and is one of the most celebrated festivals in the Philippines alongside Dinagyang, Ati-atihan, Sinulog, and Panagbenga. This is an annual week-long celebration done by Dabawenyos to thank Bathala, the supreme being for the bountiful gift of nature, treasure of culture, and tranquility of living.
This year, IPI joined this wholesome celebration with a bang as it showcased its magnificent float in the serene streets filled with lively, excited, happy Dabawenyos cheering every passerby. The float’s design was inspired by all things Dabawenyo featuring the pride of the region from Mt. Apo, all the way to Durian, and the Philippine Eagle.
The float is made of fruits, vegetables and different species of flowers like Orchids, Mums, Roses, Carnations, Alstroemeria, Calla Lily, Chrysanthemum, Anthuriums, Million Dollar, Statis, Daisies, and other assorted Foliages. It is IPI’s advocacy to promote environmental preservation and we manifest this through our float design every year.
