Boxers Weigh-in for "Who's Next? 3" Boxing Series
Omega boxers together with their counterparts enthusiastically submitted themselves for weigh-in this morning, December 1, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Parkmall, Mandaue City. After the weigh-in, a press conference for the stars of “Who’s Next? 3 Boxing Series was held.
It was a hot pre-fight meeting for both counterparts. For Omega gym boxers however, it was nothing short from expectation since everyone hit their marks in their respective class limits.
Jhack Tepora hit the bull’s eye with the weight of 122 lbs. The same went for Kenny Demecillo who weighed 118 lbs. While Christian Araneta nailed it with the asked 108 lbs. in his class limit.
During the presscon, Tepora, dubbed as "the face of Omega Gym", was asked how he felt about fighting a foreign opponent for the first time and if he is feeling a lot of pressure in his upcoming match. Tepora simply answered, “I remain the same.” He said that no matter how high his achievements, he will never underestimate. He even complimented Susanto saying that he is good.
Galih Susanto, his Indonesian opponent was asked how he expected tomorrow’s fight to be and commented that he will achieve a KO in 10 rounds or below. Tepora on the other hand said, “Dili lang ko musaad kay basin mabali nya.” He also admitted that he is pressured, but remains confident with all the preparation.
Mr. Rico Navarro, VP of Omega Pro Sports International (OPSI) also gave his remark on Tepora’s status saying that there’s no question about Tepora’s record, but he will have to win this match in order to move up. He said, “If Jhack wins again, we will build him slowly but surely, one fight at a time."
Mr. Pio Paulo Castillo, president of OPSI expressed his anticipation for this fight saying that it is one of the avenues to measure Tepora’s development. He also seized the opportunity to thank all those who supported the two previous editions stating that it exceeded expectation.
But much for the foretaste of the weigh-in and introductions, everything will eventually be unveiled tomorrow at the fight in the Who’s Next? 3 Boxing Series at the Mandaue Sports Complex at 6:00 p.m. This event is free to the public, so witness Tepora fight for the WBO Oriental Super Bantamweight title.
Tomorrow’s much awaited match also features Mark Anthony Barriga, former Olympian, Jay-Ar Aliasot, Jhaleel Payao, Marjun Piencenaves, Tomjune Mangubat, and Feljune Taneo.
